KFC!!!!

BBH did the promo work for KFC a few months back, and this was their genius solution. The use of the KFC red, and the iconic food types that reinforce KFC tradition, the corn on the cob, the burger and chicken drum stick through hand/finger prints is genius. The strap-line "finger lickin' good"... again reinforces the brand. A great Ad campaign by a great Ad Agency. Simplicity prevails again!

Flickr

Right, its been ages since i've posted on this, but I thought I'd let whoever reads this know, that I now have a Flickr profile which I'm using to store most of my profile work. This is because iWeb doesn't like my Mac's FTP software and designing a website using HTML script is something I did when I was 14, so I'm a little rusty to say the least.

Anyway, when I find time to sort out this FTP uploading thing I'll be using Flickr as my online portfolio.

Here's the addy...

McDonalds - Sort Your Head Out

I really like this solution, it requires the audience to interact with it and I like how they've potentially solved the risk of vandalism of it by putting it inside of a shopping mall where it can be guarded! Brilliant solution, great message to promote larger mcdonalds coffee's.

City & Colour

www.cityandcolour.ca

The artwork for the new single is really impressive to me. Its simple, and take a while for the eye to see what is actually there. I love how the menu kind of paints itself when the site loads up, and when you hover over the options a black marker or paint brush comes out from the side. Probably done via After Effects???

Packaging Air

This is the design solution I came up with as part of the Design for Print Production module.

I went for a bold concept, "Packaging can sell you nothing and everything". With this design, I proposed to prove that packaging can sell you air if it wanted to, it is now part of society's nature to buy things, to be convinced through packaging. My attempt at packaging air, from different parts of the British isles, could be opened and smelled from the box. The idea was a complete farce, however the module was based on the process of printing, where I proposed to print onto an acetate through flexography. I learnt a lot from this module, one particular being that Printer's typically don't want to deal with student's asking for quotes on hypothetical design ideas.

Passion Pictures

www.Passion-Pictures.com

following the work of SSSR, these guys pretty much run the game in computer generated advertisement. The company (Passion Pictures) have amongst them some of the most creative motion graphics people on this planet. (so i believe).

Spent alot of my time on this website recently. Definately worth a browse or 2.

June 9 Movie

Been researching editing techniques in reference to the Digital Production brief.

I've stumbled on a film called "June 9", kind of another Blair Witch, but based in a southern state hick town. The film itself doesn't look all too scary, acting doesn't look great from this trailer, but I think the editing is very effective.
